John Berry McFerrin (1807–1887) was an American Methodist preacher and editor. He served as a chaplain in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. ==Early life== John Berry McFerrin was born on July 15, 1807 in Rutherford County, Tennessee.〔(FindAGrave: John Berry McFerrin )〕〔William S. South, 1803, pp. 195-196 ()〕 His mother, Jane Campbell Berry, was also born in Washington County, Virginia.〔 He grew up on a farm.〔
